four things.

  • katy is one week old today. this week flew by sooo fast.
  • my birthday was great. we didn't get to go out to dinner, but that's okay. i got what i wanted- purse, wallet, and first two seasons of grey's anatomy on dvd. i have the whole first one watched.
  • on wednesday after katy's appointment we stopped by the school so i could fill out an application for a permanent position. after i did that katy and i walked back to see my little kiddos. they were so excited. they all got their picture with katy, don't worry, i had hand sanitizer! then we all got a picture with her. i went and got them all printed. each kid got one of them with katy and one with all of us. and i have one of each too. :)
  • when i was little my sisters, my brother, and i would all take turns going to my grandparents house each weekend. my mom decided she wanted to start doing that. this weekend is preston's turn. although it's nice to have one less to put to bed, i miss him. and it's kinda awkward not having him here. feels weird with only four and not five.

i'm going to start watching the second season of grey's anatomy before i fall asleep! :)

Fail.

The project I was working on failed. Major failed. I had dreams of make a new header and getting my brother-in-law to make me a new background because he's good with all that html stuff. But, it failed. So once I have even more time to spend on it I will.

This past week has been crazy. End of the marking period meant getting grades done. It was the first time I did it. Wow craziness. The phone calls because parents thought grades were wrong. CHECK YOUR KIDS' FOLDERS! I add a grade sheet in there every Friday. I put every paper in there with the grade on tap. I explain what was wrong about the wrong answer. I put the correct answer next to it. It was frustrating.

No one has been sick in our house, a first in awhile. I've been sneezing like crazy, but that's allergies. Some a-hole mowed their lawn. Thanks, jerk.

We only have 4 full weeks of school left. How sweet. It's somewhere around 30 days of school left! I didn't update the countdown on the board lately so I don't remember. All I can say is I can't wait. I can't wait for summer.

Next week I'm going to be seeing a sleep specialist for my abnormal sleep patterns. Did you know that in the United States their is only 4 psychiatrists that are certified/qualified to be a sleep disorder specialist in additon to being a psychiatrist? The doctor I'm seeing is one of those doctors! I won't lie, I'm a little nervous about it because I hate new doctors. I hate doctors. I hate specialists and having the higher copay. I'm sure that eventually I'll need a sleep study. Great, freakin' great. That excites me. Not. Especially the doctors for, you know, your feminine parts. I hate those appointments. Every year I dread the appointment. Every single year!

Every morning the first thing I hear is "How many more days until I go to kindergarten, Mommy?" Every single morning. I want to poke my eyeballs out with a pencil. Preston gets into everything. I can't wait until he realizes running into the gate does not work to get it down.

That's all for now, I'm tired.

Ask Away.

In honor of making it to 500 posts, I'm opening myself up to you. Ask me any question. Multiple questions. They can be as personal as you want. They can be anything from what's the name of your dog to how often do you have sex.. yea, i said personal. I'll answer anything!

-------------------------

I got extremely good news!
I got a job! Yea! I'm going to be substituting starting in February for the rest of this school year. It's in the elementary school with the kids I student taught with. I went today and got my badge back. I had to turn it back in when I was done because that's what you use to get into the building. I also got my user name and password for the computers. I'm super excited and can't wait to start! :)

----------------------------

I have two picture filled posts coming tonight! I'm going to do one with pictures I've taken over the past week. And ones with pictures from photobucket of things i like!

"Babe.. will you dress me?"

I woke up to Ryan asking me to dress him this morning. I was like WTF. He failed to tell me last night he got a call from the school asking to substitute. Of course he said said yes because we obviously need the money. This would be his big day. He hasn't substituted yet. But he was ready. He knew he could do it. So this morning our conversation went a little like this-

*and yes, I was asleep when he asked me to dress him. and the whole conversation I was half asleep.*

Ryan: Babe, will you dress me?
Me: What are you talking about?
R: I said (yelling a little louder now from the closet) Will you please dress me?
M: Why?
R: I have to go to school.
M: And you can't dress yourself? You do every other day..
R: But I want to look nice for my big day.
M: Sure..

so i picked out a nice pair of black pants, a nice button up shirt. I believe it was red and a black tie with red detailing. He looked fantastic!

I can't wait for him to walk through the door. I've missed him!

Last Minute Call.

School days in the high school start at 7:44. I got a call at 7am asking if I could come in for half a day in the music classroom. Uh sure. Next time, give me more notice! K. Thanks.

It was more than half day. The teacher came in at the beginning of seventh period. Seriously. Was it worth it? Two period? But whatever. I didn't have time to find something in the cupboards for lunch so it was the mystery meat in the cafeteria. The mystery meat of today- Popcorn Chicken. It was freakin' good. Lunch was never that good when I was in high school. But holy hell, yum yum.

Abbie just got over a 24hour bug.. well actually she got over it yesterday. I think she caught it at church. But she's feeling better and back to her normal self. Her normal, energetic, loud self..

Now it's time to go eat some yummy dinner. More chicken! and poor man's macaroni! Yummmm.

As Promised

I promised to post about my day yesterday and today.. so here it is!

I woke up at 6:30 and saw schools scrolling across the bottom of the TV. I prayed to The Gods Of School Delays that we would have a 2 hour delay. And we did. Little did I know I wouldn't be falling back asleep at 6:30. I received a phone call from my sister asking If I could come watch her kids until at least 8 because the sitter wouldn't allow kids into her home until 8. It was a bit ridiculous. But whatever. I said sure. I got there and fell back asleep. When the alarm went off, I woke them up and took them to the sitter. I went home, took a shower and put on my best clothing. I arrived at the school at exactly 10am. The first kid walked in at 10:10. Since it was snowy and cold we had indoor recess. Not what I was looking forward to. But we had a good time. I enjoyed my first day and I'm so happy I got to go back today. Today we had another delay. This delay was called at 7:30 last night! So, I slept until 8. We had another good day and I'm glad to be heading home soon.

---

Sorry I've been slacking.. it's been pretty busy around here. We're finally realizing that another week is down and it's only 17 weeks until the baby is here.. that my friends, is a little freaky. So, if you don't hear from me for a few days, I'm trying to prepare this house to become even more crazier!

Pretty!

It's snowing. I'm happy.

The school had a 2 hour delay which means I had to get up, come to my sister's and watch her kids before taking them to the sitters. If the school has a delay, she follows the school and doesn't allow kids into her home until 8 instead of 6. So I fell back asleep when I got here. I just woke them up. I'm getting ready to take them and head home and get a shower and leave for school!

I got a picture of the pretty snow too :)
I'll post it later!

Tomorrow is my first day.. kinda. I've got the first day nerves.

Real post later.

Must watch American Idol. Now.

7 down. 4 to go.

I put on my best pair of jeans.. I know, not professional. But they are dressy jeans. And my best top. I did my hair and makeup and I looked stunning. I woke up at eh.. 7 and then I fell back asleep until 10. AH. I wanted to sleep until 8:30... Oh well. I got to the first school. High school down. Elementary down. Then I stopped back home on my way to the next school district to check in with my sister and she was doing A-ok! Thanks Caitlin! I stopped at the next elementary and middle school. Stopped for gas. Headed to the high school. Now... I got lost on my way to the next school but found my way. What a dummie! hehe. Tomorrow I'm heading to two more high schools and elementary schools . I'm excited.

I'm guaranteed a substituting position at my old school, the one I student taught at. And when I heard that I just smiled. I enjoyed being there for those 15 weeks or whatever it was. I promise to keep you updated.

Now, I'm back to watching The Bachelor!

Oh, and Caitlin, always knock on our bedroom door if it is closed. You are so lucky that Ryan wasn't in the bedroom yet and still in the bathroom. Naked. Seriously!

Why??

Why am I awake when I don't have to be?

and isn't it amazing that the day I don't have to be at school, we get threatened with a winter storm getting almost a foot of snow and they call school off at 6am, yes my brother called me. See, I would go to school and leave early so you don't have to make it up. Whatever. I don't have to go to school and I don't care.

And, I sound like a broken record, but I' m sooo proud of myself and just happy as can be. I swear, I'll be back with details at some point.

Oh Sweet Snow!

I love you sweet snow. You gave me an extra two hours of sleep this morning. But why couldn't you have come worse last night so they would have declared a delay last night I wouldn't have had to wake up at 6:30. Oh well. I got to sleep until 8:30 and was happier than ever. Now, let's go to school to deal with little kids during inside recess. YAY! NOT!
